Hours & Scheduling

Please call the office to get more information or to schedule an appointment.  Calls are always returned by Barbara Coyle and usually within a day or two.   Scheduling depends on availability, but usually a first appointment can be made within two weeks.  If someone has just experienced a traumatic incident or loss, accommodations will be made to see them at the earliest possible date and time.  After school, evening and weekend appointments are available.  Please note, the office is closed on Wednesdays and Sundays, so there are no sessions or calls returned on these days.

When counseling is for a child or younger adolescent, a primary caregiver will be seen first for the initial consultation.  This is so that the therapist can accurately assess the situation, the parents can become familiar with the practice and they can all collaborate on a treatment plan prior to the child being brought into the process.  At this first meeting with the adults, it is often discussed how to introduce the child to counseling; what to say about the therapy process and how to explain why they will be attending.

If after the intake session regarding a child or adult, the client or the therapist feels that the two are not an appropriate fit for whatever reason, Barbara will be more than happy to make a referral to another provider.  An updated, well-researched list of healing professionals is maintained and utilized to assist people in finding the most appropriate level of care possible.
